Annual Meeting

The Annual meeting was held on  Wednesday October 15, 2008 at 7 PM at the Community room at the Library.  Seventy people attended.

The speaker was William Gay, co-author of Germantown history book, Germantown, the Early Years.  He provided a power point presentation of the making of the book and a commentary on the fascinating stories and histories in the book.


Friends Purchase Award Art Contest

Friends awarded the $300 purchase award to the winner of the first Purchase Award Art Contest. 

The first place winner was a photograph, "School Days" by Rick Sachse, of Jackson WI. The picture was gifted to the library.




Second and third place pictures received $25 gift certificates.  Second place was an acrylic, "Fish in Disguise" by Kathy Lammert. Third place winner was a charcoal, "Bookworm", by Faith Hoffmann.

Each of the 35 participating artists had two of their pieces displayed in the library for the remainder of the month of October.


A short business meeting was held, including the re-election of officers. Mary Pohland was re-elected president and Lois Helberg was re-elected secretary.  The revised constitution was ratified unanimously. Refreshments followed.

          March 27, Friday - 9:30 am - 8:00 pm

          March 28, Saturday - 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

          March 29, Sunday - noon - 4:00 pm Includes bag sale

 

Monthly meeting

          Second Saturday of each month September - May  at 9 AM at the library.

          Everyone welcome!  New ideas appreciated.
