2009 Holiday Basket / Book Sale
Gift baskets with books and related items, book sets, autographed copies and current editions
sold at the 2009 Holiday Basket/Book sale provided $4,281 to gift to the library.
2010 Holiday Basket/ Book Sale
Tentatively scheduled for the second Saturday in November.
2010 Annual Spring Book Sale
Thanks to the generosity of the Germantown patrons donating used books and the patronspurchasing books we realized income of almost $7,000. This money was put toward the purchase
of computers and shelving. The remaining books were donated to other non-profit organizations in
the community.
Please keep donating books for next year's sale. They may be dropped off at the library.
2010 Annual Meeting
The 2010 Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 13th at 7:00pm at the library.
Our guest speaker will be Abraham Lincoln portrayer, Robert Rotgers. He will recall Lincoln's life
from his birth in Kentucky to the day of his assassination. Awards for the 2010 Purchase Award Art
Contest will be presented. A short business meeting/election will follow. Refreshments provided.
2010 Purchase Art Award Contest
The Friends are sponsoring the "third annual" Purchase Art Award Contest for the purpose of
acquiring an original piece of art produced by a Washington County non-professional artist.
Registration forms can be obtained at any Washington County Library or by request through our
e-mail address gtlibraryfriends@charter.net Deadline for registration is September 24th . Awards
will be given at the Friends Annual meeting, October 13th at 7:00 pm. First place will be
purchased for $300 and gifted to the library. Second place will receive $75 and third place will
be awarded $50.
Monthly Meeting
Second Saturday of each month September - May at 9 AM at the library.
